While the idea for this product comes from the dysfunctional relationship I had with my hairdresser, I realize that this dysfunction affects many different types of businesses and many different types of clients. It affects any business that relies on clients to make regular appointments for that business to make money. You see, as embarrassing as it is to say...I was an "appointment challenged" client.
Now, I consider myself a fairly intelligent guy. I've managed businesses, I've owned businesses, and I've been working in IT for the last 8 years. What I couldn't seem to do, though, was make an appointment with my hairdresser in a timely manner. Instead of making an appointment every 4 weeks like I should have been doing, I would go 6 weeks...8 weeks...between appointments. You see, I think most people (even the smart ones) will occasionally forget to make appointments. For a lot of people it's not that they occasionally forget to make appointments, they regularly forget. Whether it's for car maintenance, or the optician, or the salon, it happens all the time. There is a pretty good percentage of your clients that won't remember until their oil light comes on, or they can't read the instructions on a box, or they look in the mirror and see nothing but a mop of hair staring back at them.
Maybe it's absent-mindedness or maybe your client is just too busy to remember, but it affects you in the wallet! I know it affected her. My forgetfulness meant that instead of me getting 3 haircuts in a 12 week period, I would only get 2. The thing is, I was not the only client she had like this...she had several, which meant she was missing out on a lot of money each and every month. We all know how it works, less regular appointments = less money...more regular appointments = more money.
I realized that I (as well as many others) needed some reminding every now and then, which is why I decided to create this product. I sincerely hope that this can benefit you and your business.
